Tom Elliott of Towanda RR 5 has been a member of the Claverack board of directors since February 1996 and currently serves as chairman of the board, a post he has held since 2006. He also serves as Claverack’s delegate to the Allegheny Electric Cooperative and is board secretary of C&T Enterprises, the for-profit management services subsidiary of Claverack and Tri-County REC.

Elliott has actively participated in continuing education for electric cooperative directors and earned his Credentialed Cooperative Director certification in 1998 and his Board Leadership certification in 2002 from the National Rural Electric Association.

He and his wife, Diane, own and operate Di-Ka-To Farms. Prior to working on the family farm, Elliott owned and operated an excavating and trucking business for 15 years with his brother, Charlie.

Elliott is a member and past director of the Bradford-Sullivan Farm Bureau, where he leads local Ag in the Classroom efforts, and serves as Agriculture Security Area coordinator. He is a charter member of the Bradford County Heritage Association, which operates the Farmers Museum at Alparon Park in Troy. He is an associate member of the Bradford County Conservation District, serving on the Chesapeake Bay committee and on the quality assurance board of the Dirt and Gravel Road Program.

He received the 1996 Outstanding Cooperator and Clean Water Farm Award from the Bradford County Conservation District. Elliott serves on the Northeast Bradford School District strategic planning committee. He was co-chairman of the fund-raising committee to rebuild the Wysox Fire Hall, which was destroyed by fire.

Elliott is a member of American Legion Post #42 and is a member of the honor guard and color guard. He is also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6824, where he serves as post chaplain and is a member of the color guard.

He is a member of the organization committee for the annual Bradford County Veterans Appreciations Day, Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Towanda, the Knights of Columbus, and Towanda Gun Club. Elliott is also a member of the Pennsylvania Grange #58 and has the distinction of flora (sixth degree).

He and his wife, Diane, enjoy riding motorcycles and square dancing.

Zone 4 serves members in Athens, Litchfield, Orwell, Pike, Rome, Sheshequin, Ulster and Windham townships in Bradford County.
