It Just Makes Cents.
What is Operation Round-Up?
Operation Round-Up is a member-to-member program helping struggling members pay their energy bills. By donating a handful of change each month, you can help. Operation Round-Up allows members to round up their electric bill to the next even dollar amount. The extra change goes to a fund to help low-income and in-need families in Claverack's service territory. By donating your spare change, you can make a difference in a neighbor's life. It's an inexpensive way to help each other through tough times.
Contributing is Easy
The concept is simple. We just round up your electric bill. For example, if your electric bill is $40.32, then your bill would be an even $41. It could also make balancing the family checkbook much easier. An average yearly donation is about $6. Add your $6 to that of other participating members and we can really make a difference to help those in need.
A Few Pennies Can Make the Difference
Each year, hundreds of Claverack members receive energy assistance in the form of government money. That financing is often targeted in congressional budget cuts - so help for needy families is never certain. That's why we began Operation Round-Up - to help more members.
There are certain guidelines for qualification for benefits through the Operation Round-Up program. Members must show a persistent effort to keep their bills paid. To maximize the benefit, these funds are usually offered on a matching basis, meaning eligible members must make a payment to receive matching Operation Round-Up funds.
