Security Lighting

You can get a security light for only pennies a day!

Claverack REC will install a security light at your location, where you want it (within 125 feet of any existing cooperative facility) at no cost to you! When you request the security lighting installation, please indicate to the representative the location where you would like the light installed. The complete installation is free: lighting fixture, wire and pole. You pay only $9.50 per month: that's only $.32 per night! This $9.50 per month includes the electricity used by the light (the electricity does not run through your meter) and all maintenance required including replacement of burned out bulbs.

Security lights will automatically turn on at dusk and off at dawn. You don't have to lift a finger, except to call Claverack REC.

It gives you added security. The more light surrounding a home, the less likely you are to be bothered by intruders.
It gives you added safety. You will be able to see your sidewalk or steps when you come home after dark and any visitors will have their path lighted.
It provides light for play areas for children and adults. Many members have security lights near their swimming pools so they can enjoy a dip in the pool after dark.
If you have a business, you can light the parking area as a service to your customers.
If it is located so it will light your door, it can help you find your keys and the lock on your door.
It is especially helpful when nightfall comes early in the winter.
