Automatic Meters

We are progressing well on our meter replacement project.  It is anticipated that all Claverack members will have a automatic meter installed by Spring 2010. Once their meter is replaced members will no longer be required to provide monthly meter readings to the cooperative!

GPS Mapping

Members who already have an Automatic Meter will not have their meter replaced in 2009-2010 but can expect a visit from a Davey Resource Group technician who will acquire a GPS data point at the meter location.

Project Update

Check below to see the latest updates on the project and when installers will be working in your substation area (your substation is identified on your monthly electric bill).

If you have any questions about our Automatic Metering Project call the Engineering Department at 1-800-326-9799

The Process

First, we will inform you by letter ahead of our change-out visit.

Then, when we come to exchange your meter, you can expect:

  • Installers with Davey Resource Group badges in clearly marked vehicles
  • Installers will knock on your door to attempt to notify you before starting any work
  • A brief disruption to your electric service will occur
  • A door hanger will be left confirming the upgrade and providing contact information
  • The installer will acquire a GPS meter location

We will not exchange your meter if it is behind a locked gate or obstructed  in any way. We will not exchange your meter if there is a dog in your yard. In some cases we will not install the meter if your meter base or service conductors are damaged or otherwise deemed not safe for meter change out.

We will follow-up with you if the meter cannot be changed by the installers  when they visit so you can correct any problems / issues and we can reschedule a change out visit
